Canadian MPs back gay marriages, Spain Too

"It is expected to win Senate approval and become law by July, making Canada the third country after the Netherlands and Belgium to allow gay marriages."

"
"We are a nation of minorities and in a nation of minorities, it is important that you don't cherry pick rights. A right is a right and that is what this vote tonight is all about," Mr Martin said before the vote."

I'm glad.

"Public opinion polls suggest that - although the majority of Spaniards describe themselves as Catholic - they are in favour of gay marriages."

"
The bill puts same sex and heterosexual marriages on the same legal footing, including the right to adopt children. "

"About 5,000 gay couples in Spain have already announced they're queuing up to say "I do", the BBC's Katya Adler in Madrid reports."

I knew this would happen eventually, but at the same time as Canada, that's amazing.
Ah, equality, it's nice.
