Gmail
For quite some time, I have been using Fusemail for my e-mail. Initially Fusemail was free, but then they had to charge. Fortunately, because I was a member before the charges, I only had to pay $4 every 3 months. I can find that in change around my house. Problem is, that I nonchalantly signed up for a bunch of newsletters with that e-mail address and now I get a bunch of crap I don't want and I can't unsubscribe.
Through a project partner from school, I got invited to Gmail and so far it's WAY better. The layout is the best I've seen for an e-mail service. I have to transfer old e-mails that I have to keep, like the e-mails from my when I bought my bass, but it's a definite upgrade in my book. If anybody feels like switching to Gmail I can invite you. Leave a comment with your e-mail address, which I will delete, or get a hold of me some other way.

My only beef with gmail is that it sort of observes what your emails are about, and if you notice, the adds along the right hand side of the your email correspond to the content in the email.
It's like those discount cards you get at Borders and Krogers where they record what you're buying, except google is recording what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure that's why it's so hard to delete emails.
Otherwise I like gmail just fine.
Google does that with searches too and either way, they have no clue who I actually am, so I could care less. Most of my e-mails are newsletters or confirmations for ordering stuff, I don't really send personal e-mails. You can disable those adds too. I've had no issue deleting e-mails either. The adds on the top too, what is this false information you're spreading?!
Pssh, maybe it's just hard for me to delete email. Or maybe I just looked and I'm lying a little bit. My bad.
The ads thing still makes me uncomfortable.
This has nothing to do with your post, but I wanted to post some headlines/quotes from The Onion that I thought you would appreiciate. Their full magnitude can only be understood in written form, which is why I am not waiting until next time I see you to tell you.
1) "'I read that piece on Mr. Paws in the latest Cat Fancy - we all did,' neighbor Paula Smith said. 'That kitten is crap.'"
2) "GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS OF PARALYZED LITTLE BOY 'No', Says God"
