You're Cheering Me Up...

The weather may still be having an identity crisis, but I may have found a song to usher in Spring. Australian Sally Seltmann, whose music name is New Buffalo, just released a new record, in Australia. The lead off single "Cheer Me Up Thank you" may just be what you need to celebrate temperate weather. It kind of sounds like "Pet Sounds" if all the lush production was stripped away. Imagine if some friends sat around and played "God Only Knows" with an acoustic guitar. That isn't to say that the production isn't lush at times, it definitely is, but something still feels so close and intimate. Sally Seltmann does has a very sweet and airy voice, which adds a bit of shyness. The song is also very sweet and I love some genuinely sweet music.
