Freakonomics

This book has quite a buzz around it and as a fan of economics I decided to check it out. The main draw of this book for everyone seems to be that it has an unusual take on normal economic questions, see title. I just finished it and not quite as amazing as the critics have been saying. It wasn't as shocking as expected. Sure, the conclusion that legalized abortion lowered the crime rate was interesting, but not really shocking. It did have some great stories though, the fact that someone in the world gave their child the name Shithead is equally hilarious and depressing, it's pronounced Shiteed though, that helps. I would say it's worth a read if you're interesting in economic questions, if not I doubt this book will interest you.
