Renault-Nissan up for expansion

In case you didn't know, French car firm Renault owns Japanese car firm Nissan and under this partnership they've done pretty well. Recently, Renault-Nissan released a statement saying "under the right circumstances and with appropriate partners", they would consider a partnership with another firm. The crazy part is, that a top GM share holder, Kirk Kerkorian, is strongly urging GM to do such, and Renault-Nissan are open to a GM partnership.

Imagine if GM, a firm that gets the moniker of being essentially American, would actually also be Japanese and French?! That would be amazing. Only perceivable issue; that partnership would create the largest car firm by a huge margin, which could spell trouble. Oh, and imagine if Renaults were sold in the US again, it would be re branded as a Pontiac I bet, but I would know it was FRENCH, it's so not American, I love it. May haps this Renault Clio might hit the streets as a Pontiac. The Toyota Matrix is already re branded as the Pontiac Vibe.
