Zune

So, I dropped my mp3 one too many times, and it no longer works. It turns on, but stalls on the start-up screen. My initial thought was, oh great, now I have to get this repaired. After that, I thought, why not just get a new player? You've got some financial aid refund checks coming, you might as well. Although I got my mp3 player in June, Creative Zen Microphoto, it is already outdated. So it's about time to jump on the cutting edge, which I'm all about.

I think it's known that I like Mac products - I don't, however, like the iPod. It has a great interface, slick design, and great integration with iTunes. My issues are, it isn't customizable at all. You can't change the EQ settings and you can't change the background color, or put photos in as your background. It also doesn't have radio, which I really like having. This leaves me with a few options, but one is sticking out.

Microsoft will soon release their first entry into the mp3 player market. They have called it the Zune, which apparently sounds close to a swear word in Hebrew. Anyways, the name doesn't really matter, iPod is kind a silly name too. The Zune happens to have all the features I want, that are lacking in the iPod. It also has a matte finish, which is scratch and finger print resistant.

30gb, 14 hour battery life, $250. Released November 14th.
