The First Is In

Pitchforkmedia has seemingly posted the first review of "Neon Bible". It's not written very well, and not even in that superfluous, let me talk about how Win Butler's choice to eat Nopal(cactus) altered the tone of the record way, but in a the stance is not very well supported kind of way. Either way, it was given an 8.4 and a Best New Music honor. Oh, and it seems Coke Machine Glow also has a review in at 75 out of 100. Slightly better writing here, but a bit lazy and also a bit weak with the support. Kind of lost on how Arcade Fire have anything in common with Evanescence, except maybe a woman that sings.

Whoa, I was mistaken. There are tons of reviews. The album has an 82 ranking at Metacritic. If I decide to use all of my remaining income, I'll also chime in with a review sometime in the week.

Update: I snagged a Deluxe version of "Neon Bible". The cover is a holographic Neon Bible, so the lights "move" when you tilt the cover. The booklets, are little flip books of the neon bible animation and the band jumping into water. I almost wish I had bought the regular version, but whatever. I'm about to spend some quality time with the record. To be continued later in the week.

Check it out, I found it rather amusing.

And I'm definitely buying "Neon Bible" tomorrow, so if you want, we could meet up and I can lend it to you. Whatevs.
