Guniw Tools

I've heard this band's name tons of times but only recently have I heard them. I first heard them on a radio.blog someone had posted and I loved it, so I decided to some research.

This group started in 1990 with two members, Full and Jake, then later expanded with a 3rd member, Asaki. Jake left and Full and Asaki became Guniw Tools until their 2000 break-up. They have made a clear influence on the Japanese indie scene. I can hear it easily, it sticks out like a white dude at the Million Man March. The sound is hard to desribe luckily I have songs.

Fade Story:
A mainly acoustic song that is kind of folky/flamenco. It reminds me of The Beatles at times(correct me on that if you think I'm off, not exactly a Beatles aficionado). It has somewhat haunting verses with an upbeat/psychedlic chorus. Completely english lyrics.

Fancy Pink:
A fantastic pop song. It's all out pop, each part is trying to be as catchy as possible and to me it works. It is a dash on the cheesy side but I like cheesy to an extent and if a song's melody stays stuck in my head it's doing something right. I picked a live version to upload.
