How cool is that? They better actually release those, because I would buy that in 2 shakes of a kitten's whiskers. I bet that would look so cool in action.

Wii

If you're savvy on the video game scene, Nintendo has been blowing it quite some it. The Nintendo 64 wasn't 1/2 as good at the Playstation and the Gamecube wasn't mature enough and just didn't have that many great games. Now, if you're like me and you get nostalgic about those Super Nintendo days, you want to see them finally not screw up, but Nintendo might have done it again.

Initially, Nintendo's new console was dubbed "Revolution". A pretty simple name, easy to grasp. New console, Revolution, it works. Nintendo just announced a name change from Revolution to Wii, which is pronounced as "we". If you need to explain the pronunciation, you've already got trouble with the mass market. Unless they can joke about how the pronunciation is tough to guess, I sense trouble. Think about the insults with people saying, "Why" would Nintendo call if Wii? The pun being mistakingly pronouncing Wii, why.

Next week is E3, the Auto Show of video games, and we'll see how things pan out. For now, I'm a worried Nintendo fanboy.

Gmail

For quite some time, I have been using Fusemail for my e-mail. Initially Fusemail was free, but then they had to charge. Fortunately, because I was a member before the charges, I only had to pay $4 every 3 months. I can find that in change around my house. Problem is, that I nonchalantly signed up for a bunch of newsletters with that e-mail address and now I get a bunch of crap I don't want and I can't unsubscribe.

Through a project partner from school, I got invited to Gmail and so far it's WAY better. The layout is the best I've seen for an e-mail service. I have to transfer old e-mails that I have to keep, like the e-mails from my when I bought my bass, but it's a definite upgrade in my book. If anybody feels like switching to Gmail I can invite you. Leave a comment with your e-mail address, which I will delete, or get a hold of me some other way.

Spring

Perhaps, I might make a tradition of Spring and Fall appreciation posts. This Spring, so far, is really nice. It hasn't been too humid and the nights are cold, which is great for sleep. Trees are growing leaves and flowers are popping up everywhere. I wish the Crabapple trees were further along, those are my faves. They have these little pink flowers and the pedals from those flowers line the sidewalk and float in the breeze, it's quite nice. I'm pretty sure there's a white Crabapple tree somewhere as well, but it's all about the pink one.

Creative Zen Vision: M

The main contender for my MP3 player purchase is this number from Creative. It is basically a 30gb Ipod video. The differences are, better sound quality, support for more audio formats, 5 colors(illustrated below) and a screen that can display more colors. The main thing for me, is always, sound quality. It costs as much as a 30gb Ipod and has basically identical battery life. The issue now is which color? I'm leaning towards the blue and I like the look of the white one.

Fab Fox

I just got done listening to the Fuji Fabric album Fab Fox and it's pretty good. They're one of those groups that hops all over on a record. Disco, funk, polka(rhythmically), acoustic ballads, and etc. Almost all the tracks have a bit of playfulness to them, kind of reminds me of Belle and Sebastian, but as I've only heard a few tracks from Dear Catastrophe Waitress, I can't positively make that comparison. If anything, that's one of the best album titles I've heard in a while. They even posed with foxes for the liner notes. Perhaps I could get my radio.blog going again and post the record, but that Russian server was really slow; we'll see.

This is a movie about Global Warming with the help of Al Gore. The trailer is pretty intense. It's not as though I didn't know anything that it says, but still, effed up man.

What Was That?

I just watched the trailer for this movie, Drawing Restraint 9 and it made absolutely no sense. Bjork is involved, that might explain it in some sense. The description for the movie is some "high art" concept, that probably adds up to nothing in the actual film itself. It involves some huge Vaseline sculpture. If anything, it seems to be aesthecially pleasing. It might catch your interest.

Howl's Moving Castle

I watched this movie yesterday and it was absolutely charming. It's the most recent film from Hayao Miyazaki, who also did Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. The movie is one of those movies that lots of people can enjoy, like Spirited Away. It's just so feel good. The whole thing is just plain gorgeous, the English voice acting is quite good, and the story itself is easily accessible, but still is deep enough to be enjoyed seriously. If you've got the time, I would really recommend watching it.

I Am A Sex Addict

Clearly, I'm not talking about myself. I did, however, stumble upon the trailer for a movie with such a title. It's a quasi-autobiographical film, about a director who was a sex addict. The director seems to have made that hilarious. Check it out.

I thought, a while back, "Hey, how about getting co-writers for your blog?" Well, now I actually feel like doing it. So if anybody feels like writing something interesting, I'll consider posting it. I'll be honest whether or not I like it, or if I think it fits, but if it did, that would be pretty nifty.

Mind = Blown

Even though I don't own a Mac, I'm a fan. They've got that knack for being reliable and working, something I hope for on my Windows machine, but Windows is a let down.

One pro of Windows, however, is that it's a hacker's dream. The amount of illegal stuff you can do on a Windows machine is out of this world. Also if you like computer games, Windows is the better way to go. Well Mac can officially brush the hater off their shoulder. All those suckas that complained about Macs not being for games or copious hacking, can now eat those words.

Mac recently switched to Intel based processors, a common Windows computer processor. This made hackers think "Maybe we can run Windows on these new Intel Macs." The hackers pulled it off and now Mac has officially released software to set-up a Mac machine to run both Windows and Mac OS X.

This blows my mind, because now Mac users have it all. Windows people can't run Mac OS X. I doubt any geek ever thought Mac would officially condone this, but it makes business sense. That's one less reason not to switch to a Mac Computer.

The Rape of Lucrece

I've gone through quite a bit of Shakespeare, perhaps too much, this year. Of all the Shakespeare things I have read, The Rape of Lucrece is by far the best. It's a poem, but it's 80 pages long, at least in my book. One issue I have with lots of Shakespeare's work is that I never feel like I know the characters. Even in the tragedies; Othello was a fairly simply character for me. The Rape of Lucrece, however, is extremely detailed. I actually got enveloped in the feelings of characters. Everything had a much more tangible motive for me. It isn't too hard to comprehend either. Some stanzas had me a bit confused, but it was easier to read than the plays, I think. Either way, it's quite a beautiful work, even though it is very tragic, naturally.

April Fool's!

Hey, gang. It's been sometime. I've just been slacking really; I probably could have posted something by now. Whatever.

It is, of course, April Fool's day, which means there are many pranks a brewin'; I'm even working on one. I happened to just stumble across a hilarious prank, that a few people pulled on Chevy. Chevy decided to let the general populous create adds and Chevy posted them on their website. A dangerous duo decided to pull a delicious prank with this opportunity.
