I've got say I'm a fan of this myspace music thing, as for the everything else, it's all wrong. I ran across a Plastic Tree one setup by a fan, pretty decent song selection too. Except maybe Harusaki Sentimental, it isn't a awful song but nothing to brag about.

This just in, The Supreme Court has decided that seperation of church and state does exist and has ruled that placing The Ten Commandments in a courtroom is unconstitutional. I'm not happy about this just to spite the religious right, no, it's because I'm glad people realize the constitution exists again. Thanks Supreme Court you did your job. In addition, thank you constitution for making sense.

Republicans Need To Grow Up

I was randomly going through blogs and unfortunately landed upon on a conservative blog that was filled with some of the most idiotic content I've ever seen. It seems conservatives think the only way they can seriously attack someone is by making childish insults. OMG let's make a picture of Howard Dean dressed up as a clown and say he hates all Republicans and everything they stand for, EVEN THOUGH HE NEVER SAID THAT!!!!! YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME. It is really weird that some people want to take politics seriously? How is it funny that people can't afford to feed their children? How is it funny that women and minorities are still being discriminated against in our society? If Left-Wing people complain about those things, Right-Wingers say they are a bunch of whiners. FUCK THOSE PEOPLE, GROW UP!!!! The political world impacts us, maybe not you fucking bastards with massive bankrolls, but it makes a difference to people who have to work for a living and don't live off an IV of family savings.

1. Rio - I love this song. Everything about it is amazing. The funky bass groove, the whirling keyboard, the "rock" guitars, the sax solo. Love this song.
2. My Own Way - Great track. The verses are great, it's got this tension. Simon Lebon's vocals are spot on right here. At about 3 minutes the band goes into a "jam" Roger Taylor's guitar "solo" isn't the best and Simon Lebon is going off saying some stuff that you can't even understand. Still digging this track though, classic Duran Duran.
3. Lonely In Your Nightmare - Starts with this nice jangly guitar that is kind of 60's, it's pretty neat. This is one of their ballads but a good one. Vocal textures are great here. The atmosphere goes from cool and relaxed to lush and smooth. John Taylor goes into some fretless bass work too, very cool.
4. Hungry Like The Wolf - I don't even need to review this track.
5. Hold Back The Rain - Pretty cool track. A very fast, upbeat track. Some of keyboard work is cheesy, not overly so, but still cheesy. It doesn't end very well, but still good track. Edit: Really awful lyrics, Simon Lebon at his cheesiest.
6. New Religion - Great funky bass line throughout and just overall some great funky work mixed with Nick Rhodes' creepys keys. Not an amazing track, still pretty good. Simon Lebon breaks into a "rap" somewhere near the end. The textures are cool and the groove is amazing, so I'll give it a 3.5/5.
7. Last Chance On The Stairway - Starts with a great shimmering guitar part remiscent of "Is There Something I Should Know?", the chorus could be better. The texture here again is amazing, the whole band is playing extremely tight. Again some 80's wailing guitar work doesn't hit the ears well. Still despite a few blemishes still a good track.
8. Save A Prayer - An amazing ballad. The keyboards really make this track. This track really abandons the funky grooves that dominant most of this record. It's all about the melodies and the keyboard textures. Really a great track.
9. The Chaffeur - A creepy track. It has this weird staccato keyboard riff that is in most of the track. The vocals are processed to sound almost synthetic. The lyrics, I don't even think they are suppose to mean anything. The sound textures are so weird it's almost annoying but I like that. I think I prefer the live version on the Arena record though.

Pretty sweet buy for $13. I'm glad I finally snagged a Duran Duran record and this one certainly didn't let me down. Now I can get a Duran Duran shirt, that's my policy, buy the CD then get a T-shirt. The CD also comes with the music videos for "Hungry Like The Wolf", "Rio" and "Save A Prayer" and a great photo gallery.

I felt like posting "Senaka" by Bonnie Pink. To my knowledge the only song of this style she has ever done. It's a great song. The impact isn't lessened at all by the fact that I can't understand it.

Spybot Search and Destroy

If you're a Mozilla Firefox user, which you should be if you're using a Windows system, you've noticed that lately you've been getting pop-ups. This has been really annoying me, since previously Firefox got rid of all of those, but those effing bastards find a way. Since pop-ups are usually the cause of Spyware I was worried and did a spyware search with Adaware and it found nothing. I wasn't buying that, so I downloaded Spybot Search and Destroy. Spybot S&D found 197 spyware files. So, yes I recommend it and no I'm not being paid. Unlike that bashing of creationists, now I know where research money goes.

I do honestly recommend it to keep your computer from dying.

Someone at Wikipedia decided to make a list of unusual deaths. At first I thought this would be hilarious, especially the first one.
Aeschylus, Greek dramatist, according to tradition, died when a vulture, mistaking his bald head for a stone, dropped a tortoise on it.

The rest of the deaths, they are really awful. Either way interesting, but mostly unsettling.

Goatbed, What Is This?

I just saw the video for the song "Monica" by Goatbed, which is a single off their new album, and I'm confused. Is it so cheesy it's funny? It is too cheesy to be good? It is just awful? How did it get to this? It's really 80s and really cheesy. It's synthed to death, and the cheesiest sounding synths I've ever heard, especially the horns. I've got it, it could be cool, if the synths didn't sound so cheesy. It's pretty bad, man, why? I could say they sold out and they did it because they are on a major label, but it's not like that. It's just too cheesy to be good and I love cheesy music. I'm so lost, Goatbed you've turned my world upside down. Also the music has gotten much more synth and less organic. The drums and the guitars aren't as all up in your business. I don't even know what else to say. If there was a way to make a confused face with regular text i'd make it. +_+, how about that?

I just finished watching this trailer and it seems like a really good movie. It seems charming in it's honesty. I don't know, I like what I saw. Still about a month until it comes out in theatres here, but I'd like to see it.

Baroque des

I had to make a post so another band profile. Today it's Baroque. They started off as a weird, hmm, people say they are influenced by punk music, I just think it's very quirky rock. Then they went into kind of pop-punk, which was originally good. After that they got all cheesy and island sounding, then they broke up.



There's a promo flyer apologizing to fans for a delayed show, well that's a pretty neat idea.

Kind of funky verses, that leads into a nice flowing chorus. I really like the drum fill to the first chorus. Weird voice work here, but that's 1/2 the magic to me. A song from an earlier release

Gakidou
Their first single released as a major label band. A pop-punk song, but it's pretty good. I really love the drumming. A complete loss of weirdness though.

OMG!!!

First, Polo decided to cater to my need to look sharp with a create a tie feature on their website. I would have trouble choosing, I think I'd go for the light blue with white stripes.

If only they had a purple tie. I've been wanting some article of clothing that's purple, a rich purple. Either way, pretty neat.

It seems an orgasm is a tool to keep mates longer(ego booster), seems odd that about a 3rd of woman rarely achieve them. I don't know what I really think about this besides that it is interesting.

I was listening to some Iron Maiden the other day and then all of the sudden I remembered a certain song that happened to have an Iron Maiden reference in it. Let's think back all the way to 2000 when a group of youngsters released a song called ........................... "Teenage Dirtbag". Remember that group? It was Wheatus, ohh, what an awful name. It has been well documented that I possess a love for justice being dropped. I was reading a fellow blogger's blog and he posted this article written by Scientist Richard Dawkins. He tackles the Evolution vs. Creationism/ID debate. I won't even post my opinion, Richard Dawkins speaks for me.

Metal!!!

I have been jamming out to some serious metal lately. Well, not really, just this Arch Enemy song called "Well Will Rise". Arch Enemy are part of the new metal movement called Melodic Metal, which basically is what it sounds like, metal but with more melodic emphasis. Only other band I can think of in this genre is Children of Bodom. Basically all these groups are from Scandinavian countries, Sweden, Norway, Finland, etc.
Pretty popular right now I think, can't say I have more than a slightly humorous interest in this genre, but every once and a while I've got to fulfill my craving for intensely metal guitar work, like tap solos.
Either way Arch Enemy has a female lead singer that sounds more badass than most male lead singers, not bad looking either.
Man, this is really all I've got right about, ohh wait that truth serum, yes it exists. Another time. I don't even feel like listening to metal right now. At the beginning of this post, but not now.
